Fashion Club Honors Betsey Johnson

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month than with breast cancer survivor and advocate, and our fashion hero, Betsey Johnson!

Fabulous, Then and Now

Betsey Johnson has been rocking the fashion industry since the ’60s.  That’s four decades of the wild, outrageous, and original designs we’ve come to love so much.  And the girl just keeps getting better and better!

Dancing Queen

Having spent her childhood in dance classes, Betsey’s fondness for costumes is a source of inspiration for her designs. We’re digging the frills on this little number!

Melrose Place

We have to wonder if world-famous Melrose Avenue would be half as cool if it weren’t for Ms. Johnson.  She was, after all, one of the first designers to open a boutique on the famed shopping strip.

A Piece of Paradise

Okay, do you know anyone who would buy an awesome villa in beautiful Mexico, make it totally sensational, then rent it out for others to enjoy?  Neither do we, but that's exactly what Betsey did when she purchased a tiny hotel in the Mexican Riviera and created Betseyville.

Survival Story

Betsey is a fighter, and this is perhaps the reason we love her most.  After battling (and beating) breast cancer, she became a strong advocate for the fight against breast cancer, making public appearances and designing one-of-a-kind items to raise money for different charities.  She’s the Honorary Chairperson for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, and has been honored by the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
